This is the Part 2 of 3 of my blog entry, a sneak peak of  my 10 day training at Manila as Moonleaf Barista.

Moonleaf Teashop started its first operation last October 2010 as simply a walk-in stall. Due to  public demand, they opened a bigger space that will accommodate the increasing crowd. As early as their opening, they are making name to the public market.

Stars like Melissa Ricks,Japoy Lizardo, Shamcey Supsup,Robin Padilla,Christine Reyes, Rayver Cruz are some of their celebrity customers that get hooked into this tea sensation. At an affordable price of 75php with no size variations, you can have the feeling of being a celebrity.

I was ranting about using a DSLR instead of a digital camera to capture high definition photos about Moonleaf. Too bad, I wasn’t able to have one, so I made myself contented to what I have, a digital camera.

I end up writing my own name. Lame as it is,my name looks good on it. Ha - Ha.

This is the Part 1 of 3 of my blog entry, a sneak peak of  my 10 day training at Manila as Moonleaf Barista.

A close friend of mine who is related to one of the owners of Moonleaf, asked me to apply. I did not waste any minute, I hurriedly fixed my requirements that is needed for application. As soon as I was hired, mixed emotions filled my system: surprised, happy, excited, nervous. I feel like I was alive emoticon.

THE TRIP

(Photo grabbed at Moonleaf Page)

With my team, as we waved good bye to our loved ones.

Puzzled of what lies ahead on our 10 day training at Manila, I was then hesitant on how to approach each individual of the team. So I took the effort to crack my stupidest jokes in order to  lighten the atmosphere  and keep them alive during our stay at Bahay ni Kuya.

Each individual has a story to tell that touched me. They deserve a few taps for being strong and for looking life as a treasure to keep.

TRAINING. TRAINING. TRAINING.

Photo taken during our second day of training after our pre test about the History of Moonleaf , different current admins and the differences of each teas. Sir Nick and Ma am Jam, demonstrates the proper shaking, proper handling of the shaker, and how to mix the standard quality of the product.

HEAD TRAINORS:
Sir Nick and Ma am Jam.

Both Pioneers of the first Moonleaf, they had a different attack in teaching us. Sir Nick, is general and trusts our capabilities and strengths in making a tea without getting strict while on the other hand, Ma am Jam, she is specific with the details and is concern of the quality of the product rather than the speed.

THE TEA

,

L-R Black Tea, Jasmine Tea, Oolong Tea

We were taught on how to cook this teas with precise water measurements and exact quantity of natural tea leaves.

Experts says that Black tea is much healthier than Green tea while Jasmine tea is the sensitive tea with a flowery scent and is good for digestion and the Oolong tea is a high caffeine tea that is good for people who are busy and wants to be awake.

We are proud to say that, our tea is made from natural leaves, follows a standard and healthy quality in every drink and has multiple health benefits.

THE SYRUP

We were asked to familiarized ourselves with the different syrup needed for making teas.

THE MOONLEAF CREW

Filled the station with  smiles as we take a break to capture this once in a lifetime moments with the awesome crew of Moonleaf, Maginhawa.

Former MTB host and now TV 5’s gem for her top rating show Face to Face, Amy Perez dropped by to order her favorite Caramel milk tea. Stunned by her presence, I was hardly breathing since she has an unexplained charisma that could WOW the crowd. Looking young at the age of 42.

Watch out for her MMFF entry at Enteng ng Ina Mo as Ina Magenta

We, the Pioneers of Moonleaf Naga and the master shaker Kuya Jay.

Define, happy and vain.

THE MANAGERS:

Human Resource Manager, Ms Vi & Store Manager, Sir Henry

The Bubbly HR. Known for her tagline “charot” when asked by a serious question about her life, she has a jolly personality, has lending ears and open heart and has a strong appeal to the crowd.  Speaking of random, she has a lot to say and is happily contented with her long time partner. Soon to marry, I guess.

The Cool Boss. A graduate of Development Communications at Ateneo de Naga University, he is highly applauded by our trainers, crew and admins at Moonleaf Maginhawa for his dedication at his work. Sleepless nights, late night reports, day to day evaluation and assessments filled his days during the training.

My Childhood Icons

I guess, each and every one of us has one’s childhood icon, may it be a cartoon, an influential person, or  a singer. So these are the TV icons that made my child hood life to be remembered, they were my boredom heroes when I was still a kid/home buddy.

5.Dexter,The Dexter’s Laboratory. Cartoon Network

Fascinated by Dexter’s enormous secret laboratory and the ditzy attitude of her hilarious sister Dee Dee, this served as my morning breakfast way back 10 years ago.

As a kid, I usually sleep early to catch my favorite Dexter episode.

4. PopeyePopeye. Cartoon Network

Popeye is the sailor man with a spinach can, the superhero and the night and shining armor of Olive Oyl. I’m amazed  on how spinach can make Popeye’s muscle into a submarine and can make Bluto beg on his knees. I enjoyed every scene where they would fight to win the heart of Olive Oyl.

As a kid and due to ignorance,I asked myself  Is Spinach true?? Can it really make my muscles as big as Popeye on TV?

3. PikachuPokemon. GMA 7

It’s cute when Pikachu says, “Pika- pika”. This bubbly yellow creature has been my model when I was starting to explore my talent which is drawing.

I remember the days where trading Pokemon cards happened to be the trend among youngsters. I had a growing collection of Pokemon cards, and trade them through, “bangko bangkoan” and “dampa”. I even had a certain place for my texts in which it is properly placed and organized.

2..Raven SymoneThat’s so Raven. Disney

Influenced by my sister, I fell in love with Raven’s free-spirited,fashionable and feisty character. She is the bomb, though literally she looks like a bomb, she has a bombastic sense of humor.

In each episode, she transform herself into a variety of disguises that totally suits her.

1.S Club 7S Club 7 Series. Disney.

When I was a kid, they are my best favorite. I even had their songs on a notebook, name S CLUB 7 painted on my wall, on a cabinet, and even on a table.

Meeting them in person is on my TO-DO LIST BEFORE I DIE.

To get more updates of S Club 7, check out their official website on Viva S Club
